Although this isn’t directly linked to impartiality, I’d like to share a video clip I put together of the World Have Your Say crew. I asked them what piece of advice they would give aspiring journalists… Well worth a watch!
How realistic is it to expect news and current affairs broadcasters in the digital age to commit to due impartiality?

I think this is a great little clip Rosalie and some real words of wisdom from two experienced pros.
Surely by being curious, inquisitive, interested and passionate about your subject matter, you are more likely to remain balanced and impartial. The more we find out about a person/animal!/situation/culture/lifestyle etc, the more we can investigate it and weigh up either side of the argument, before presenting the story in a fair and balanced manner?
And as we discovered with the World Have Your Say team – bloody-minded perseverance amid rounds and rounds of rejection is absolutely vital to get the perfect interviewee!
Great stuff, Rosalie. I wish I had taken part, it looked like a really rewarding exercise and I can imagine the adrenaline rush of broadcasting to over forty million people was sensational! Was also sad to miss out on a World Have Your Say T-shirt, they looked pretty snazzy.
